If you have never had your home washed, it helps to know how the day goes. Here is the whole thing, start to finish.
Before we arrive
There is not much for you to do, but a few things help:
- Move cars off the driveway if the driveway is part of the job
- Close the windows properly
- Take down anything hanging on the walls you want kept dry
- Point out any window with a seal you already know is going
You do not need to be home. Plenty of our jobs happen while people are at work.
Water and power
We bring our own. The trailer carries water, power and everything else, so your tap stays off and nothing shows up on your bill.
The walk-around
We look at the property first and say what we are going to do to each surface. If something needs a gentler method than you asked for, this is when you hear it, not after.
The work
Plants get wet down first so nothing sits on dry leaves. Walls and roof are soft washed with low pressure. Concrete gets a surface cleaner for an even finish. Plants get rinsed again at the end.
A typical house takes a few hours. Add time for a large driveway or a roof.
How wet everything gets
Wetter than people expect, and it dries faster than they expect. Concrete goes patchy while it dries and evens out once it is dry, so do not judge the result too early.
When we finish
We do a walk-around at the end, and you get before and after photos texted to you whether you were home or not.
How often to do it
Most homes here want it yearly. Shaded houses and anything under trees do better twice a year, because that is where algae comes back first.
